Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Bear Givhan

Bear is the Founder and CEO of Earthview and drives the company’s technology, vision, and growth. He began his career in methane monitoring as a commercial pilot, flying methane monitoring aircraft in nearly every oil and gas basin from Alaska to Mexico. Bear earned a BA, Geology, from the University of Colorado and is an instrument-rated commercial pilot.

 
 
 

Co-Founder & Chief Scientist

Jim Maslanik, PhD

Jim has over 40 years of experience in remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and climate research. He became intrigued about methane monitoring while researching methane releases from the Artic permafrost. Jim developed the initial version of the BluBird sensor and has been instrumental in its development. His education includes a BS, Forest Science, Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s in Environmental Pollution Controls, Pennsylvania State University, and a PhD, Climatology, University of Colorado. He retired from the University of Colorado as an Emeritus Research Professor in Aerospace Engineering Sciences in 2012.

 
 
 

Chief Financial Officer

Michael A. Minyard

Mike has over 25 years of technical, operational, and executive leadership experience with E&P, oilfield service, and finance firms. He is an experienced growth executive, having helped scale a PE-backed oilfield service company from startup to a nine-figure top line in three years. Mike holds a BS, Mechanical Engineering, Rice University, and a MBA, Finance, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
